Dr. Dan Murphy grew up in Philadelphia and moved to Washington DC after serving in the Navy. He attended the University of Maryland for his undergraduate degree in Animal Science. He then attended L’Academie de Cuisine and worked in the culinary field for a couple of years but decided he wanted to pursue his true passion of Veterinary Medicine. He first attended University of Philippines then transferred to Oklahoma State University. He graduated OSU with his Doctorate in 1990. He moved back to DC to his awaiting wife and opened his own clinic on Capitol Hill in 2003.

Dan enjoys food, wine, sailing, bike riding and maintains a plot in a victory garden that he has leased for 20 years.

Dan and his wife, Lynn, live on Capitol Hill with their three cats Henry, Lily and Pierre.
